Every year, we celebrate Screaming Frog renewing as a WTSPartner in one of our favourite ways: by bringing their SEO Spider training to The WTS Community for free.
It’s become an annual tradition and a great example of what we want our WTS partnerships to look like: finding practical ways for our partners to share their expertise while creating genuinely valuable opportunities for our community.
Screaming Frog offers expert-led SEO Spider training for teams looking to get more from the tool.
Their two-hour online training normally starts from £500 for up to 10 attendees, covering everything from configuring the SEO Spider for different scenarios to advanced crawling, debugging and technical SEO auditing.
As part of this initiative, Screaming Frog adapts and delivers the training completely free of charge to selected WTS community members.
We first tried the idea in 2024. 47 people applied, and we increased the original allocation from 20 to 25 places due to demand.
It went down so well that we decided to make it a regular part of celebrating Screaming Frog's WTSPartner renewal.
In August 2026, Aaron James from Screaming Frog returned to deliver a condensed 90-minute live SEO Spider training session exclusively for WTS members.
This time, 65 people applied in just one week.
We worked with Screaming Frog to increase capacity again, ultimately offering 30 places while keeping the group small enough for attendees to interact directly with Aaron and ask plenty of questions.
We prioritised freelancers and community members without access to a company training budget, asking people to only apply if they couldn't afford to purchase the training themselves and planned on making the most of the opportunity.
From those eligible applications, we held a draw to select the final 30 attendees:
We also wanted the initiative to help amplify our wonderful partner.
So we created a simple co-branded image for everyone selected and asked them to share it on LinkedIn to help us thank Screaming Frog for generously donating their time and expertise.
And our members definitely delivered!
Before the training had even taken place, attendees were sharing their excitement about the opportunity and their appreciation for Screaming Frog.

It meant our members got to celebrate being selected, while Screaming Frog received some lovely organic amplification from the community before the training had even started.

The best thing about this initiative is how simple it is.
Screaming Frog has brilliant expertise and a product our community already uses and loves. We have a highly engaged community who want to keep learning.
Screaming Frog provides the training, WTS finds the people who will benefit most and handles the community side of things, and together we create something genuinely useful.
And our members certainly brought the engagement.

The session even sparked ideas for what we could do together next. Interest around MCP use cases led to discussions about bringing together examples from WTS members for future community-led content with Screaming Frog.
That's exactly the kind of thing we love to see come out of a WTS partnership.
