Introducing Oksana Prykhodko! Okasana is a top-performing Technical AI SEO Specialist with expertise in optimizing digital marketing strategies for various clients. She's successfully conducted comprehensive SEO audits for law firms and developed advanced structured data solutions to improve search visibility for marketing agencies. She's also proficient in AEO/GEO optimization, JSON-LD schema implementation, and structured data audits, ensuring enhanced website performance and engagement. Finally, she also leverages tools and methodologies in technical SEO to drive substantial online growth and competitive advantage.

How did you get into SEO?

My career in SEO began in 2017, when I interviewed at an e-commerce development company. My first task was collecting thousands of semantic cores across various topics. This process captivated me so much that I remain an SEO specialist to this day

What is your favourite SEO task?

A new client SEO audit ;)

What is your go-to tool or resource that you can't live without?

Google Search Console and Screaming Frog are my absolute holy grail tools! I honestly couldn't do my job without them.

What is something you learned in SEO that made you have an 'AHA' moment?

My biggest 'AHA' moment was realizing that SEO isn't just about algorithms; it’s entirely about communication. When I stopped looking at SEO as 'optimizing for bots' and started seeing my role as the translator between users, developers, and content teams, everything clicked. The moment I realized that aligning user intent with business goals is far more powerful than perfectly tuning keyword density, the way I approached my strategies completely changed for the better.

What is your proudest industry achievement?

My proudest achievement was leading a massive, complex site migration that resulted in a traffic increase instead of the dreaded post-migration dip.

What advice would you give those starting out in SEO?

Build your own website and don't be afraid to break it! Reading about SEO is great, but nothing beats hands-on experience where you can test theories without the pressure of a client's budget. Secondly, never be afraid to ask questions. The SEO industry changes so rapidly that even veterans are constantly learning. Find your community, absorb as much as you can, and know that your unique perspective is incredibly valuable.

Give a shout out to a person of marginalised gender in the industry who inspires you and tell us why

There are so many brilliant minds to choose from, but I have to give a huge shoutout to my husband, who brought me into this industry and teaches me new things every day!

Areej AbuAli for creating this incredible community and constantly advocating for others.
Love it!

What empowers you to be the brilliant person you are?

Embracing a 'progress over perfection' mindset. That, combined with fiercely setting my boundaries, surrounding myself with a supportive network, and listening to a hype-up playlist when I'm stuck on a technical audit, keeps me grounded, focused, and ready to tackle whatever Google throws at us next!

Finally, how does it feel being part of the Women in Tech SEO community?

It is profoundly empowering. In an industry that can often feel highly competitive, WTS provides a genuinely safe, collaborative, and uplifting space.
