Sitebulb's free, on-demand JavaScript SEO training created from WTS community feedback and delivered in partnership with Women in Tech SEO and The Gray Dot Co.
When Sitebulb became a WTSPartner, their goal wasn’t just to build visibility - it was to give back to the community in a meaningful way.
In this initiative, Sitebulb set out to create something that would help SEOs level up their technical skills, guided by the principle that our Managing Director, Erin Simmons, shared in their talk at brightonSEO:
Led by the brilliant Jojo Furnival, Sitebulb launched a WTS community survey to understand how SEOs were approaching JavaScript SEO, one of the industry’s most challenging and evolving topics.
Jojo’s original ask to the WTS community - a short survey paired with a promise to turn their input into free educational resources.
The insights gathered directly shaped a free JavaScript SEO Training Series in partnership with WTS and The Gray Dot Co, which later evolved into an on-demand course.
Jojo delivered on that promise, identifying WTSer's pain points through the survey and creating a resource to help fill that skill gap.
The initiative gave SEOs a space to learn, grow, and share their new skills with the industry.
All while building authentic, long-term trust between Sitebulb, WTS community members, and the industry as a whole.
Sitebulb created a survey that gathered honest input from hundreds of SEOs about what they found most confusing in JavaScript SEO.
Using the results of that survey, Sitebulb developed a comprehensive training series addressing the most common challenges, which included everything from rendering and indexing to practical debugging.
The team hosted a free live training session for the WTS community, and later transformed it into an on-demand course so anyone could access it at their own pace.
This approach turned community insight into action, creating a resource that continues to deliver value long after launch.
Our collective career goals listed in The WTS Way are the value that WTSers come to the community for and define what it means to be helpful in our community:
✔️ Connections
✔️ Education
✔️ Amplification
✔️ Opportunities
Sitebulb had it covered - they were already providing valuable education based on the voices from the community.
But they took it another step further - embracing our amplification goal by inviting two brilliant WTSers, Sam Torres and Tory Gray, to lead the training and be the voices of this much needed education.
Sitebulb didn’t stop at helping WTSers learn - they invited two WTS members, Sam Torres and Tory Gray, to lead the training, turning our collective goals of education and amplification into action.
Then a final step further by creating a certification for folks to share their newfound skills and hopefully open up some new opportunities in their career.
Folks flooded social after the training, sharing their certificates and love of the resource.
Communities thrive on reciprocity - where there is a balanced give and take value exchange. Sitebulb's WTSPartner initiative is a bright example of what that looks like in action.
✔️ A much-needed educational resource built from their own input, ensuring it met real needs.
✔️ Free, high-quality training on one of SEO’s toughest topics.
✔️ Two WTSers, Sam Torres & Tory Gray, led the training - having their voices & expertise amplified
✔️ Certificates for those who completed the training to share as proof of skills gained
✔️ Authentic, long-term trust built through consistent community support.
✔️ 2 confirmed new Cloud customers (a combined value of £10,680+VAT annually), with a third in progress - all directly linked to the initiative.
✔️ 3,000+ course signups (and counting) through organic reach and word-of-mouth.
✔️ Elevated brand visibility and reputation rooted in genuine contribution, not self-promotion.
✔️ Shares and mentions through social by industry folks who completed the training
Community members proudly shared their JavaScript SEO certificates, helping the training spread through genuine word-of-mouth while also earning valuable brand mentions for Sitebulb, the trainers, & Women in Tech SEO.
By showing up for the community without expecting conversions, Sitebulb earned measurable results -proving that trust drives visibility.
This partnership worked because Sitebulb didn’t just ask for input - they made a promise and fulfilled it.
Jojo put out an ask with a clear commitment of value in return: if the Women in Tech SEO community shared their experiences with JavaScript SEO, Sitebulb would turn that feedback into a free, practical learning resource.
✔️ Put out an ask with a clear return: Jojo invited the community to share their challenges around JavaScript SEO, with the promise of creating something valuable in response.
✔️ Listened and acted: Sitebulb analysed the survey data, identified the most common knowledge gaps, and shaped the course content directly around those needs.
✔️ Fulfilled the promise: They developed and launched a free JavaScript SEO training course built entirely from what the community said they wanted to learn.
✔️ Amplified community voices: Sitebulb featured two WTS members as key contributors in the resource, putting them front and centre to share their expertise and experiences.
✔️ Created shareable value: Learners could celebrate their progress with social share certificates, turning skill-building into something exciting, visible, and career-boosting.
By keeping their word and spotlighting community voices, Sitebulb proved that when companies build with a community rather than simply marketing to one, the results are deeper, more authentic, and longer-lasting.
When brands lead with listening, generosity, and trust - visibility and conversions follow.
Because people support those who support them first.
Say hello to a partnership unlike any other.
