Introducing Aimee Jurenka! Aimee builds search strategies for the bold, the offbeat, and the brands that actually want to be seen by both bots and real people.
I got into SEO while searching for my next big thing. In a meeting, someone described Google as Skynet and the algorithm as a giant puzzle. Between the sci-fi references and the thrill of decoding a mystery, I was in.
STRATEGY! Give me the mess of an audit and I’ll turn it into a plan that gets results. It’s like solving Hellraiser’s puzzle box—only instead of unleashing chaos, it unlocks growth.
To quote Joe Hall, "the best SEO tool is one between your ears."
Oh my gosh, the day I figured out how to build topic authority with blog category pages that map to each core page? Game changer. Each category page includes internal links to its corresponding core page and a custom blogroll to funnel page authority where it counts. It's structured, strategic, and seriously effective.
Well, when I started SEO becoming a Strategist was my goal, not just the title but knowing I really was doing strategy that worked. I blew through that one a few years ago when I became a Director & now nothing is the limit. I never thought I would be posting to LinkedIn & having my peers ( who where my role models when I started) find it useful. Or even filling out this form right now. So I guess I would say the amount of growth I have been able to achieve.
Don't be afraid to put on your tin-hat & dive into some good Google conspiracies. I have figured out so many things that I use in strategy. And it's just plain fun.
Dana DiTomaso and Marie Haynes both took the time to talk with me when I was just starting out, and it left a lasting impression. It showed me that this community is more than smart, it’s welcoming, diverse, and built on sharing knowledge.
Oh I'm just learning how to do this. It doesn't have to be perfect, you don't know everything, just do the thing. Post that post, leave that comment, ask that question (that ones really hard for me), submit the form, give the talk. Even if it scares you to death.
