Welcome to a new
Introducing
We asked her everything from how she first got into SEO to what empowers her to be the brilliant woman she is 💪🏽
How did you get into SEO?
I started doing content during my university years, and after getting to write for various clients and working for an agency, I got employed at a company with the request I learn SEO. And so I did - I got the opportunity to work as a junior SEO and learn.
What is your favourite SEO task?
Audits and keyword research
What is your go-to tool or resource that you can't live without?
Ahrefs, I look at everything there. It's the first tool I used when I started learning about SEO, and it just stuck with me.
What is something you learned in SEO that made you have an 'AHA' moment?
Learning and switching my career to SEO had a lot of AHA moments - from figuring out how keywords work to diving into more technical aspects AHA was the most common word used in my home. However, if I had to single out one of my aha moments, it was a year ago when I found out what exactly was holding back a client's website from functioning and ranking.
What is your proudest industry achievement?
I haven't won any award, spoken at a conference, or written a book, so I guess ranking a client in one of the most competitive niches with the simplest keyword has been my proudest moment. But generally, I am proud of where I am and the road I took. Having studied Art History, I wouldn't have believed I could get to a niche that had no connection to what I spent 5 years learning.
What advice would you give women who are starting out in SEO?
Don't give up. If SEO is something that has grabbed your interest, do it. Explore anything that interests you as much as possible. And never stop learning and researching.
Give a shout out to a woman in the industry who inspires you and tell us why
Areej AbuAli and Kristina Azarenko, thank you for inspiring and sharing your knowledge.
Finally, what empowers you to be the brilliant woman you are?
Constant learning with a lot of research and practical work is what keeps me going professionally. I don't like routine and I love variety in everything, and working in my agency with such great people at my side is what drives me.
