Introducing Kezia Bibby! Kezia is an independent SEO and Digital Marketing Consultant based in Brighton, with over a decade of experience in international SEO. She helps brands improve visibility across search engines and AI-driven platforms through technical audits, keyword strategy, and generative search.

With a background in anthropology, geography, and commerce, Kezia brings a curious, data-driven mindset to her work—delving Lara Croft–style into the depths of site architecture to uncover opportunities for growth and clarity.

Since 2020, she’s worked directly with brand teams, delivering tailored SEO strategies and ongoing support. Her recent projects span luxury e-commerce, multi-site management, and complex site restructures.

Kezia has trained marketing teams across Europe and spoken at leading industry events including BrightonSEO and eMarketeers, empowering others to navigate the evolving search landscape with confidence.

How did you get into SEO?

By accident and strong inclination! While working at a small firm, I quickly discovered that my natural interest in websites, networking, content, and development aligned perfectly with what was needed to improve our performance—and SEO became my playground.

What is your favourite SEO task?

Site audits! I love digging into the technical foundations and keyword research to uncovering hidden issues that unlock performance gains.

What is your go-to tool or resource that you can't live without?

I love making my own combinations that fit the SEO strategy needed for each client. Leveraging well known tools like Screaming frog, SEMRush, Search Console with a bit of GPT Sheets and Python to deliver a comprehensive view on technical or content optimisation ideas.

What is something you learned in SEO that made you have an 'AHA' moment?

Early in my career I saw "black hat" SEO and the resulting fall out with penalties and site blacklisting.

SEO is not something to be "gamed" and is a brand activity as much as any other channel. Care about your customers, help them get the content they need and ensure you have strong technical foundations!

What is your proudest industry achievement?

Improving visibility for a B2B brand by 300% through simple technical changes, good keyword research and optimisation.

Also, training marketing teams across Europe and speaking at BrightonSEO. Seeing people gain confidence in SEO because of something I taught is the best feeling.

What advice would you give those starting out in SEO?

Keep learning, testing and always think of your customers first. Engage with your SEO community - there is so much to learn.

Give a shout out to a person of marginalised gender in the industry who inspires you and tell us why

My late friend and colleague Emily Mace. We worked together smashing SEO for 8 years. A passionate and inspiring SEO.

What empowers you to be the brilliant person you are?

A good coffee, a walk by the sea, and the mantra: “Be curious, keep digging.” Ideal for navigating change and complexity of our sector.

Finally, how does it feel being part of the Women in Tech SEO community?

I'm excited to be a part of an active and growing community. It’s a space where I feel seen, supported, and inspired. The knowledge-sharing and kindness are unmatched.
