Introducing

Maria Waida
, Owner of SaaSy Copywriting. Based in Los Angeles - Maria is a SaaS blog expert specializing in SEO long-form posts that combine strategy and infotainment to give your audience content they just can't get anywhere else. We asked her everything from how she first got into SEO to what empowers her to be the brilliant woman she is 💪🏽

How did you get into SEO?

I fell into it through my work as a copywriter. A lot of SaaS Marketing Directors come to me looking for blog solutions that prove ROI so I use SEO tools and best practices to optimize their content.

What is your favourite SEO task?

I love finding new keywords that clients may have missed! I flip those into topics and round out their foundational content before moving on to some niche yet high-performing keyword ideas. It's really satisfying when you strike gold - almost like a treasure hunt!

What is your go-to tool or resource that you can't live without?

Tory Gray of the The Gray Dot Company recently turned me on to Clearscope and I'm obsessed!

What is something you learned in SEO that made you have an 'AHA' moment?

SEO for content writing is actually fairly simple. But the real trick is to create something of value that resonates with your target audience. As long as your actual content is the best possible guide or resource for that topic and you don't keyword stuff, it's only a matter of time until you see real audience growth and lead conversion from your blog.

What is your proudest industry achievement?

I've helped multiple Billion dollar brands reach the first page of Google search results through blogging. And I regularly field personal emails from readers of that content who want to compliment, thank, or work with me based on that content. It's a really nice feeling!

What advice would you give women who are starting out in SEO?

Get a mentor. Seriously. You don't know what you don't know. You can always teach your self SEO (and you should) but a mentor will help get you up to speed with trends, tools, and career opportunities much faster.

I personally wish I had invested in streamlining my own education like this in the past.

Give a shout out to a woman in the industry who inspires you and tell us why

Shout out to Tory Gray! Her expert knowledge, passion, and consistent dedication to the field is really inspiring for me.

Finally, what empowers you to be the brilliant woman you are?

If I'm truly brilliant, it's all because of the people who gave me the chance to create with and for them. Also, mindset is key. Law of Attraction practices help me stay positive and bring in more opportunities. It really changed my life, I can't recommend it enough.
