Introducing

Taryn Taylor

She runs a consultancy named ETaylored Marketing which focuses on local SEO and SEO for small business websites. She creates custom campaigns that enhance business visibility on search engines, increases traffic to their website and generates sales and leads.

We asked her everything from how she first got into SEO to what empowers her to be the brilliant woman she is 💪🏽

How did you get into SEO?

I got into SEO because I was working on rebranding a horrible website with tons of irrelevant content. I had to figure out a way to reduce that content but still get the message across to the right audience in a digestible way. That's how I discovered SEO. It was the best way to explain how to frame the content by explaining how it works for search engines.

What is your favourite SEO task?

The research/competitive analysis part is far my favorite. It gets my wheels and creative juices turning.

What is your go-to tool or resource that you can't live without?

Google Search Console is one of my top resources. It's a one-stop shop of information for me.

What is something you learned in SEO that made you have an 'AHA' moment?

My AHA moment came about when I realized that SEO and life go hand and hand. The foundations of SEO are pillars of life. The health of yourself and your site is important. You want to have quality conversations and quality content on your site. Lastly, You want to surround yourself with people of high values and authority, similar to backlinking strategies.

What is your proudest industry achievement?

My proudest industry achievement is just the mere fact that I'm where I am being a self-taught SEO. Although I'm no superstar, I give myself flowers for not giving up and looking/feeling like a fool just so I could get a grip on the craft.

What advice would you give women who are starting out in SEO?

People are not as smart as you may think and YOU are definitely smarter than YOU believe!

Give a shout out to a woman in the industry who inspires you and tell us why
